Winter weary golfers can keep their game in shape at The Golf Training Center at Turning Stone. The fully-equipped facility has been named one of the Top 10 Golf Domes in America.
The Golf Training Center at Turning Stone is among the finest in North America, according to the industry's foremost publication.
Golf Range Magazine has named the Turning Stone facility to its inaugural list of Top 10 Golf Domes. The magazine is published by the Golf Range Association of America, which serves owners and operators of golf ranges and learning centers throughout the United States and Canada. Turning Stone is the only venue in New York State to be included on the list.
The Golf Training Center houses 40 hitting stations outfitted with high-tech playing surfaces, two putting greens and a sand trap. It's the winter headquarters of the Golf Academy at Turning Stone, staffed by PGA Professionals utilizing computer-enhanced Model Golf technology. In addition, the spacious facility offers two golf simulators, each loaded with 26 golf courses throughout the world. The Center is open daily from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.
''Our dome was carefully designed and constructed to provide our guests with a world-class practice facility in a relaxed atmosphere and playing conditions that are very similar to the actual game of golf,'' said Turning Stone Director of Golf Robert Todd. ''We're very pleased that the magazine has recognized our efforts by placing us in the Top 10.''
Todd will accept the award on behalf of Turning Stone during a reception later this month being held in conjunction with the PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, Fla.
The honor kicks off an exciting year for golf at Turning Stone, highlighted by the PGA Tour's Turning Stone Resort Championship Sept. 17-23 at the Atunyote Golf Club. The event's $6 million purse, with more than $1 million to the winner, will make it the most lucrative stop on the Tour's Fall series.
