Engineered stone is an artificially made synthetic stone with the pattern and texture of natural stones, featuring lightweight, high strength, pollution and corrosion resistance, convenience of construction, etc., being an ideal modern building decoration material. Its pattern and texture can be controlled artificially to imitate marble, granite and other stones. Depending on the bonding material, engineered stone can be divided into resin-type and cement-type stone. The main product made in this project is resin-type stone, which uses organic resin as the bonding agent and is mixed with natural gravel, stone dust and pigment into a mixture and then made through the high vacuum, high-pressure molding, curing, mold release, drying, cutting, grinding and polishing processes. It is applied very widely. In addition to indoor flooring and wall decoration, it can also be used as stairway panel, window board, service tabletop and tea table surface, etc. Its performance characteristics are as follows:
(1) Strong imitation effect of pattern and color; its texture and decorative effect are completely comparable with natural marble and granite;
(2) High crushing strength: Small thickness and low weight of sheet products; easy to construct using polyester mortar or 107 glue cement paste directly;
(3) Uniform appearance, color and pattern, avoiding the fatal defect of color difference in natural stones, especially suitable for large-area decoration;
(4) Innovation treatment: When the stone has been used for a long time (one or two decades), or the surface becomes scratched, two polishing treatments can be made so that the effect after renovation is the same as newly applied sheets;
